In Chile, the number of confirmed cases of new type of coronavirus reached 69,102, the Chilean Ministry of Health said. In the past 24 hours alone, 3709 patients infected with SARS-CoV -2 have been identified in the country. Most of the new patients showed symptoms of COVID-19 disease. Also in May 24, 45 people died in Chile from diseases caused by the new coronavirus. The total number of victims of COVID-19 complications since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 718. According to the news agency, on 24 May, Chilean President Sebastian Piñera stated that the medical system in the country was working at the limit of opportunities due to the growing epidemic of coronavirus infection.
