Kiev will not be reported yet: an expert on clashes at Zelensky's office
Ukrainians and especially residents of Kiev are again dragged to barricades, Ukrainian political analyst Vladimir Fesenko said today, June 17, commenting on the clashes in the center of the country's capital. On the one hand, national radicals are going into battle, the expert said, and on the other hand anti-Maidan and pro-Russian populists, prone to the same aggressive radicalism. But it is already obvious that Kiev will not be put on the support of street fighters. It seems to me that most Kiev residents do not want the streets and squares of their city to be in the hands of bare demonstrators, with whatever flags and slogans they go out. Peaceful protests are fine, but preferably without blocking the streets, but the crowd with smoke and tear gas repels and scares normal people, and clearly does not cause sympathy, the political scientist believes. Fesenko suggests that the activation of radical populists from polar political camps in Ukraine could potentially play in favor of centrist parties, including the Servants of the People: If, of course, they are consistent and meaningful in opposing different radicals. The news agency recalls that today near the office of the President of Ukraine there were political actions and clashes of supporters of the party of a politician and blogger Anatoly Sharia and patriotic right-wing forces. According to police estimates, about 600 people took part in the actions, 500 security forces provided order. As a result of the clashes, 15 people were detained, who were taken to the Pechersk district police department.
