Anhui Province of China announces emergency flood control regime


Anhui Province in eastern China announced that an emergency flood control period was declared in 12 cities in the region due to continuous rains that wreaked havoc on the territory, Xinhua News Agency reported. The new regime began to operate from lunch local time on July 25. In particular, 12 cities located on the banks of the Yangtze, Huaihe rivers, as well as Lake Chaohu, include the capital of the Hefei region, the cities of Bengbu and Wuhu, the regional headquarters for flood and drought control said. Currently, the main course of the Yangtze and Huaihe rivers in Anhui Province has exceeded a dangerous level, and the water in Lake Chaohu has reached its historical maximum in the history of observations. Showers will last until at least July 27th.
