King of Morocco released 5.6 thousand prisoners due to coronavirus
King Mohammed VI of Morocco decided to pardon 5,654 prisoners against the background of the coronavirus situation, reports on April 5 the agency MAP with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom. The amnesty was reportedly decided on the basis of the prisoners 'age and state of health. The sentences served and the behaviour of convicts in places of deprivation of liberty were also taken into account. According to the latest data, 883 cases of new coronavirus infection have been officially confirmed in Morocco, of which 53 ended in death.
