At least 100 thousand reliable signatures of citizens for their nomination can be registered as presidential candidates in Belarus. On June 30, he informed the Central Election Commission of the post-Soviet Republic. For the period from May 21 to June 19, a sufficient number of signatures for the registration of a presidential candidate who passed the verification in the state body was collected by the ex-head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko. Now he is arrested and is in the KGB pre-trial detention center. The Central Election Commission recognized 165.744 thousand signatures collected for his nomination as reliable. The second-highest opponent of Alexander Lukashenko, his former assistant Valery Tsepkalo, according to the Central Election Commission, did not collect the necessary number of signatures. For his nomination as a presidential candidate, according to the state body, only 75,249 reliable signatures were collected. According to the Central Election Commission, 1,939 million signatures were collected for the nomination of Alexander Lukashenko, who is constantly occupying the presidency. Anna Kanopatskaya, considered his sparring partner, is in third place in the number of signatures collected (146.588 thousand). The leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (BSDG) Sergey Cherechen in fourth place (143.109 thousand). In fifth place is the co-chair of the Tell the Truth association Andrei Dmitriev (106, 841 thousand). In the sixth, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the wife of the popular blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky, who is in jail, collected 104.757 thousand signatures for her nomination as a presidential candidate, recognized by the Central Election Commission as reliable. Until July 4, the rest of the presidential campaign can pass the signatures collected for their nomination by presidential candidates.
