National Bank of Uzbekistan brought $200 million in cash from USA
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan delivered $200 million from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. This was announced on April 20 by the Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic Mamrizo Nurmuratov to the davletov.uz newspaper. According to him, the stock of currency today is $311 million. Reserves for the future are provided through a contract with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Nurmuratov said. He added that commercial banks independently stock currency. However, due to transport restrictions, the regulator delivered cash on its own. If any bank needs a cash currency, it will take it from us, said the head of the Central Bank. It should be noted that since April 2020 the demand for foreign currency has increased in Uzbekistan. In March, banks sold about $13 million daily, and as early as April 13, sales amounted to $22 million. Read also: Uzbekistan to master 2.7 billion from foreign financial structures in 2020
