Turkey presented a plan recognizing Crimea as Russian


The Turkish party Vatan presented the Black Sea-Mediterranean Friendship and Peace Plan, which includes a clause recognizing Crimea as Russian. This was reported on June 25 by RIA Novosti. So, among other points, the liquidation of American and NATO bases in the region, the recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, as well as support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and ensuring peace in Syria. Kurshad Ornek, an analyst at the Sahipkiran Center for Strategic Studies, who spoke at the party's workshop, said that it was necessary to establish relations with Crimea and, by agreement with Moscow, become a guarantor of the rights of Crimean Tatars. According to the news agency, residents of Crimea in 2014 opposed the coup in Kiev, held a referendum in which the vast majority of citizens spoke out in favor of leaving Ukraine. In Russia, the issue of Crimea was declared closed at the highest political level. Note that earlier Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky said that Crimea is part of Ukraine and that Ankara cares about the fate of the Crimean Tatars.
