In Spain, car sales decreased by 10%

At the end of August 2020, 66,925 cars were sold in Spain, which is 10.1% less than a year ago. This was reported by the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Cars and Trucks (ANFAC). At the same time, from January to August 2020, the drop in car sales in the country amounted to 40.6%, to 524,706 copies. Last month, Volkswagen became the best-selling car brand in Spain. Dealers of this brand sold cars in the amount of 5388 copies, which is 2.5% less than a year ago. Renault models (4731 units) took the second place in popularity. This is 11% more than a year ago. Toyota closes the top three with a result of 4725 cars. Here, sales growth was only 1.2%. In fourth and fifth places are located respectively Seat (4680 units; 2.8%) and KIA (4626 units; + 26.2%). Recall that in August of this year, the Volkswagen Golf model became the leader in sales in the European car market. Last month, Golf bought 22,386 European motorists 15% less than a year earlier.
